The thicker upper leather handles everyday abuse without concern and will age similarly to your favorite Goodyear-welt boot. This article is made in one of Italy's boutique tanneries which specializes in vegetable tanning. The leather is placed in a 'Bottali' which is a large barrel that rotates allowing the organic tanning substances to stay in contact with the article. A complete cycle may take 30 - 35 days. This leather is durable, has the scent of a saddle room, and ages beautifully. Prominent vamp breaks and a variation in color should be expected with this type of bovine leather.
